Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source Procurement. The Government intends to issue a sole source purchase order for procurement of a Real Time Polymerase Chain Reaction system to study the physiological mechanisms of laser eye injury in support of the Health Hazard Assessment of Lasers for the U.S. Army Medical Research Detachment at Brooks City-Base Texas. Applied Biosystems will be the offering vendor because of specifications uniquely characteristic of their product as determined by our research scientist. The 311 Human Systems Wing/PKBA intends to award a purchase order by other than full and open competition in accordance with Subpart 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
