The Administrative Operations Service (AOS) require this acquisition to be a sole source because Hispanic Association of College and Universities (HACU) acts as the only institutional entity of its kind that has had a primary role in providing peer based technical assistance on evaluation issues to AOS grantees for the past five years. This Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship Program has become the nationâs largest Hispanic college internship program. HACU represents Hispanic-Serving Institutions where Hispanic Americans constitute at least 25 percent of the total enrollment at either the undergraduate of graduate level. The programâs objective is to provide professional work experience that will enable Hispanic students to make educated career choices and supplement academic study through practical experience. The central mission of HACUâs Internship Program runs year-round and has the following eligibility requirements: Individuals must be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program, must possess a 3.0 GPA, and must complete the freshman year of college before an internship begins. Hispanic Association of College and Universities (HACU) is the only responsible source that will meet the needs of the Government.
THE PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION ACTION IS FOR SUPPLIES AND SERVICES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH ONLY ONE SOURCE UNDER AUTHORITHY OF FAR 6.302-1. INTERESTED PERSONS MAY IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST AND CAPABILITY TO RESPOND TO THE REQUIREMENT OR SUBMIT PROPOSALS WITHIN 10 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION BY THE GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED CONTRACT ACQUISITION BASED UPON RESPONSES TO THE NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL NORMALLY BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING WHETHER TO CONDUCT A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT.
