The National Library of Medicine is one of four national libraries in the United States and is the world's largest and most comprehensive medical library. The congressionally mandated mission of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) is, in part, to collect, organize and disseminate global literature related to both research in and practice of medicine and its related fields; and to provide reference and research assistance to aid in the exchange of scientific and other information important to the progress of medicine and to public health. NLM also has a congressional mandate to collect original literature and artifacts deemed of historic significance to scholars of medical history, many of which are one-of-a-kind. NLM intends to add the following books and manuscripts to its collection: "Camillus Rubeus (Camilo Rossi).
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However all responses received no later than the closing date of this announcement will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
