The work consists of the construction of an addition of (14) Classrooms and (2) Science Labs along with associated Workrooms, Offices and Restrooms to the original building which was completed in 2004. The original construction type was Type IB Construction (sprinklered) consisting of primarily load bearing construction. The new addition is Type IB Construction (sprinklered) consisting of structural steel frame (with sprayed fire protection) and masonry infill with brick veneer exterior. The roof system is SBS Modified Bitumen on lightweight insulated concrete roof deck along with gable type skylight units. The HVAC equipment is gas fired rooftop units with bipolar ionization. Also, including in the work are low voltage systems including fire alarm, intercom, surveillance and intrusion detection systems.
