The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition the purchase of a Helios G4 UX NanoLab to support the Electron Microsopy Unite of the Research Technologies Branch (RTB) from FEI Company, 5350 NE Dawson Creek Drive , Hillsboro, OR 97124. The Helios G4 UX is the only FIB-SEM microscope with UniColoreTM technology, a monochromated Schottky thermal field emission source. This technology surpasses the resolution performance of a cold field emission source by effectively limiting the energy spread of the probe to less than 0.2 eV. In combination with immersion lens technology, the result is a SEM that provides sub nanometer resolution from 1 keV to 30 keV. The instrument also employs the only Ga+ FIB that provides superior resolution from 500 V to 30 kV. The FIB provides up to 65 nA of beam current with Time-of-Flight correction. The key features of the Helios G4 UX include the only DualBeam with a monochromated SEM, state of the art FIB with a range of 500 eV - 30 keV, 0.78 pA - 65 nA beam current that is time-of-flight corrected. In addition to the convenience and ease of use, the Helios NanoLab offers remote operation and remote diagnostic capabilities. This is not a request for soliciation. All responsible sources may submit a response that will be considered. The Government reserves the right to make a decision whether this requirement is available for competition. All responses shall be submitted no later than 2:00 PM eastern standard time August 15, 2016 to
