The USNS Comfort has a requirement for two (2) Fresenius 2008K Dialysis Systems with bicard, CRRT option, and saline drain buckets, internal blood pressure module and 10cc heparin pump with online clearance. The Single Needle 2008K is used for patients with a new Fistula (Dialysis Access), and a patient with infiltration problems. This device prevents or minimizes dialysis access damage. Fresenius, USA, Inc. propriety development dialysis machines is the only source for performing continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Fresenius machines with CRRT capability use our standard acide and bicarbonate supplies, where the other manufacturers would require purchase of specialized supplies. Fresenius machines are volumetric, providing precise measurement of the fluid withdrawn from the patient per the physician's orders. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes, however; any firm that believes that it can meet the specifications above may give written notification to the Contracting Specialist. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
