Purpose: The Product Manager Air Warrior (PM AW) is seeking to identify interested contractors capable of manufacture and delivery of the HGU-56/P Rotary Wing Helmet (RWH). The responses to this RFI will be used to gather information that may be able to fulfill the PM AW's needs for production of RWHs for fielding.
Background: PM AW has a requirement delineated in the Air Soldier System Capabilities Development Document for improved field of view and improved comfort for the HGU-56/P helmet used by Army Aviation. The RWH provides this improvement and is the approved helmet for US Army Aviation. PM AW has begun initial fielding of the RWH. PM AW will continue fielding of the RWH and ancillary/spare parts through a new production contract dependent on funding. Any new production contract will also include Maxillofacial Shields (P/N A14138-2) and HGU-56/P Upgrade Kits (P/NA14250-X).
In order to meet the timelines for fielding, any contractor must have a qualified system IAW part number A14093-x (x = 7 -12) for the RWH, Maxillofacial Shield (P/N A14138-2) and HGU-56/P Upgrade Kit (P/NA14250-X, x = 1-6).
