THE INFORMATION SOUGHT HEREIN IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY (MARKET RESEARCH) AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ), REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP), AND INVITATION FOR BID (IFB) OR AS AN OBLIGATION OR COMMITMENT ON THE PART OF THE GOVERNMENT TO ACQUIRE ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICE. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION SUBMITTED BY RESPONDENTS TO THIS REQUEST.
Description: The packing and containerization contractor, hereafter referred to as contractor, shall furnish services and materials for the preparation of personal property (including servicing of appliances) for movement or storage, drayage and related services. Unless otherwise indicated in the Schedule, the contractor shall furnish all materials except government owned containers (Type I and II), and perform all work in accomplishing containerization of personal property for overseas or domestic movement or storage; stenciling, cooperage, and drayage of personal property. Excluded from the scope of this contract is the furnishing of like services or materials which are provided incident to complete movement of personal property when purchased by the through government bill of lading method, or other method/mode of shipment. Offeror will propose rates for transportation and accessorial services as defined in the draft Performance-based Work Statement (PWS). All costs of operation under this contract shall be borne by the Contractor, including but not limited to, tolls, licenses, costs of overtime, Sunday or holiday work, or for operations during stormy or inclement weather.
