The U.S. Army is issuing a Sources Sought RFI notice as a means of conducting market research to identify sources having an interest and capabilities to support a requirement for the M3P .50 Caliber Heavy Machine Pod with Links and Case Collector Aircraft Weapon System (HMP 400) and associated management equipment (hereon collectively referred to as HMP 400 PODs). The HMP 400 (PN 3648905090) is a mounting platform for the M3P .50 Caliber Heavy Machine gun attached to helicopter bodies and effectively arms helicopters not expressly designed with inherent weapons capability. The associated HMP 400 management equipment (PNs 3641506950, 3641504956 and 3648995010) is expressly designed to allow for routine maintenance and ammunition loading for the HMP 400.
