Kirtland Air Force Base Youth Center & Arts & Crafts program join forces for the jolliest of awaited Holiday Celebrations. 

Over 300 Kirtland Air Force Members participate in and attend our Holiday Greeting Card Contest and Tree Lighting Ceremony. 

Squadrons and Kirtland Air Force Base partners work create life-size greeting cards displayed as soon as November 1, 2009 through January 2010 and work toward the chance to win prizes. 

On December 4, 2009, kids of all ages gather for the announcement of winners and to celebrate the lighting of our base holiday tree.

New to the event, kids participate this year with an ornament contest.  Winners' ornaments will be displayed at base chapel and announced during the social. From there, all our Kirtland family can enjoy our selected ornaments on the Mountain View Club holiday tree through January.

Inside the chapel, kids wait eagerly for Santa Clause, whose arrival via fire truck is the highlight of every kid's night.  Cocoa and cookies, candy canes, and sweet dreams abound with carolers and good wishes for the holiday.
