TRANSPORTATION
For Ceremonial Horses
U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Regiment Caisson Platoon
1. Background
The United States Army Caisson Platoon conducts memorial affairs operations in support of all Joint Services in Arlington National Cemetery to honor our Nations’ fallen service members and their Families. On order, the Caisson Platoon provides assets in support of States Funeral missions and key strategic engagement ceremonies in and beyond the National Capitol Region. The Caisson Platoon is responsible for sustaining 61 horses located at two locations- Fort Myer, Va. and Fort Belvoir, VA
2. Objective
To provide transportation of 7 horses from three (3) different locations to 9250 Stuart Road Bldg. 3041Ft. Belvoir Va. 22067
a. Pick up horses 2ea. from Mick Harman 7633 W State Rd.46 Ellettsville, IN 47429-9708
b. Pick up horses 3ea. from Don Anderson 18730 F.M. 15 Troup, TX 75789
c. Pick up horses 2 ea. From Dewell Ray Jenson 4283 Anderson Rd. McAlester, OK 74501-2762
3. Scope
Upon request, Horses shall be picked up and delivered as follows: The order of pickup is solely up to the vendor. Vendor shall ensure all health certificates and coggins are present for each horse being transported. Horses to be transported shall be identified by vendors listed below. Transporter shall be responsible providing hay and water as needed during travel. Vendor shall be Equine Insured in the event of lost.

d. All horses will be delivered to 9250 Stuart Road Bldg. 3041 Ft. Belvoir Va. 22067
The deliveries shall be made within 10 calendar days of the date when the order was placed. Deliveries shall be made between the hours of 0600 and 1630 Mon -Friday
4. Specific Tasks
Acquire and delivery horses per the statement of work.
5. Unsatisfactory Performance
Item listed in section (2.) Scope, must be one hundred percent operational. Failure to perform to this delivery would mean possible termination for default of the contract or nonpayment for services rendered due to the provision of a faulty product by the contracted party.
6. Hours of Operation
Monday – Friday 0600 - 1630
7. Period of Performance
Delivery shall be prior to 21 April 2020
8. Place of Performance
Deliveries of horses shall be at 9250 Stuart Road Bldg. 3041 Ft. Belvoir Va. 22067

The contractor shall be responsible for all documentation required for Joint Base Myer Henderson-Hall, Arlington Virginia access. A valid driver’s license with photo is required.

SPECIFICATIONS
Please specify trailer type, number of days, planned stops and number of drivers. This trip, if originating at the Oklahoma location and ending at Fort Belvoir is estimated to be 1850 miles.
Two horses in Indiana are draft crosses and they will weigh around 1100
pounds. They are 3 year olds so they are not that big, about 16 hands tall.
Two horses in Oklahoma are registered Quarter Horses, one might be 1200
pounds. The other is a 4 year old and going to be a little less.
The three horses in Texas are crossbreds, they will average 1100 pounds give
or take.
