Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility intends to award a contract to Curtiss-Wright, the original equipment manufacturer, to perform Pre-Patrol Groom on High Pressure Air Compressor units. Curtiss-Wright has been found to be the only vendor that can perform this type of work onboard naval 688 classs submarines while meeting the militrary/Navy's standards. Curtiss-Wrightowns the proprietary drawings required to service the equipment and do not release the drawings or other proprietary knowledge to third-party companies.
