The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division, intends to aquire the services of American Superconductor Corporation, Devens, MA.. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.

This Request for Quotation (RFQ) covers the establishment of a firm-fixed price purchase order for 6,800 meters HTS Wire and is being issued using Simplified Acquisition Procedures Pursuant to the Test Program for Certain Commercial Items as authorized by Subpart 13.5 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received prior to the closing date will be considered by the Government.  A determi-nation by the Government not to compete with this proposed Purchase Order, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. 

Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in future.
