The goal of this program is to provide training for approximately 20 students and up to 10 staff. The performance is expected to begin in October 2014 to align with the US Air Force Test Pilot School (USAF TPS) syllabus. However, dates are subject to change to meet the needs of TPS. The intent is for students to work through a directed profile with the objective of evaluating performance characteristics of the aircraft. This program is not intended to teach initial or recurring flight training. The students and staff will be a mix of pilots, combat systems officers, navigators, and engineers with various backgrounds.
The contractor shall provide the HU-16 Albatross and operators/instructors with the ability to instruct students on the systems, performance and flying qualities of the aircraft provided. The contractor shall provide on-aircraft instruction, briefings, all management, personnel, tools, vehicles, equipment, and labor necessary to support the USAF Test Pilot School's (TPS) Qualitative Evaluation Program (QEP). The contractor shall perform all requirements and obtain all permits and licenses in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local guidelines.
