This is a Small business Sources Sought notice. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources:(2) whether there are small businesses, HUBZONE small businesses, service disabled veteran-owned small businesses or (8a) small businesses, veteran- owned small business, woman-owned small businesses or small disadvantaged businesses veteran owned small businesses; woman owned businesses, or small disadvantaged businesses and (3) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. Your response to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method, including whether a set-aside is possible. An organization that is not considered a small business under the applicable code should not submit a response to this notice.
Background Information
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation's foremost federally funded biomedical research institution. It is comprised of twenty-seven Institutes, Centers and Divisions. The Warren G. Magnuson Clinical Center is the on-site 267-bed hospital for the NIH campus comprised of clinical, laboratory and administrative staff who support the Institutes as they conduct clinical research working with inpatients and outpatients participating in research studies at the NIH. The Department of Peri-Operative Medicine Department (DPM)) provides Peri-Operative (Surgery) support for patients enrolled in the experimental protocols of several Institutes

The Belmont Hyperthermia Pump is needed to perform therapeutic procedures to raise the temperature of thoracic or peritoneal cavity to the desired temperature by continuously lavaging the cavity with warmed sterile solution. The warm sterile solution is pumped into the body cavity, withdrawn, reheated and recirculated back to the body for a period of time specified physician. The system monitors sterile solution temperature, line pressure and air in the fluid path to ensure operation and alarms at all unsafe conditions. Four sterile temperature probes located within the sterile field by the physician, monitor patient cavity temperature. The Belmont Hyperthermia Pump is specified and unique to peritoneal/thoracic perfusion procedures
