This project consists of the relocation of The City of Fort Myers’ (The City) potable water main, force main, and re-use water main, as well Lee County Utilities’ (The County) water main, associated with the realignment of FDOT’s Colonial Boulevard. FDOT will realign Colonial Boulevard between Six Mile Cypress and Forum Boulevard. The intersection of Colonial and Six Mile Cypress will be converted to a continuous flow intersection. The intersection of Colonial and I-75 will be converted to a diverging diamond intersection. The intersection of Colonial and Forum Boulevard will be converted to a “Michigan U-Turn” intersection. These realignments will require The City’s and The County’s utilities to be relocated. The FDOT contractor will be relocating approximately 2,000 feet, 1,200 feet, and 50 feet of The City’s force main, potable water main, and re-use water main, respectively. The FDOT contractor will also be relocating approximately 700 feet of The County’s water main which inspection services will be included as part of this scope. This scope of services describes and defines the services which are required to provide Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) services for the City’s and the County’s utility relocation for the FDOT I-75 at Colonial Boulevard Project. The CEI CONSULTANT shall provide necessary qualified personnel, equipment, and services to ensure that the Project is constructed in accordance with the Plans, Specifications, and Construction Contract between the City of Fort Myers, Lee County Utilities, and Contractor. The CEI CONSULTANT shall utilize the CITY’S and the County’s Technical Specifications and Standard Details, the Florida Department of Transportation Materials Sampling, Testing and Reporting Guide, and the Florida Department of Transportation’s Standard Specifications. The CONSULTANT shall perform all services and/or work necessary to complete the following task(s).
