Project Description: This project is a Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Project (CFLRP). The goal of the CFLRP project is to utilize collaborative, science based ecosystem restoration techniques to improve watershed function while encouraging ecological, economic and social sustainability with an emphasis on providing local employment opportunities. This project requires removal of an existing 60 inch X 43 foot corrugated metal culvert and construction of a new 61 foot span X 16 foot wide bridge that utilizes pre-stressed concrete Tri-deck beams or a steel superstructure with timber glued-laminated deck panels and running plank. All work shall be in compliance with this solicitation's terms, specifications, and drawings. This includes furnishing all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals.

If selected, the Tri-deck beam bridge shall be perched on a concrete grade beam foundation. Work shall consist of, but is not limited to, structure excavation, placement of Class 6 riprap, installation of precast concrete grade beams and precast concrete wing walls, installation of pre-stressed concrete Tri-deck beams, excavation and embankment of roadway approaches and road surfacing.

If selected, the steel superstructure bridge shall be perched on a concrete grade beam foundation. Work shall consist of, but is not limited to, structure excavation, placement of Class 6 riprap, installation of steel beams, timber glued-laminated deck panels, and timber running planks, excavation and embankment of the roadway approaches and road surfacing.

Project Location: This project is located on the Bonners Ferry Ranger District, Idaho Panhandle National Forest on F.S. Road No. 2266 at milepost 0.94 approximately 25 air miles north of Bonners Ferry, Idaho within Boundary County. Latitude and longitude at the site is 48.912877, -116.254050.

Project Timing: The solicitation shall be issued in late June with award planned for late July. Notice to Proceed will be issued in the fall of 2016 to facilitate the contract submittal process and provide ample time for ordering bridge components. Site work shall begin approximately July 10, 2017. No in-stream work will be allowed before July 15 or after March 1 of any construction year. Contractor will be allowed to close FSR-2266 to all through traffic for one, continuous 2 week period once approved by the Contracting Officer; this will prevent operations from impeding ongoing logging operations in the project area. All work under this contract shall be completed by October 30, 2017.

Estimated Price Range: The estimated price range for the total project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
