NOTICE OF INTENT
Sole Source Contract

The United States Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARFORSOC) aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, anticipates awarding a sole source firm fixed-price contract to Alpha Source Inc. (CAGE: 0F459) of Milwaukee, WI to provide disassembly, transportation and reassembly services for the relocation of a GE Healthcare Lunar iDXA Bone Densitometry device from Camp Pendleton, CA to Camp Lejeune. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) Code is 811219 (Diagnostic imaging equipment repair and maintenance services) with a size standard of $22 million.

The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Alpha Source is the only authorized source to obtain field engineer expertise and services in order to disassemble, reassemble, maintain and certify the medical imaging equipment in question without affecting the warranties in place with Alpha Source. Additionally, Alpha Source warrants its transportation services and competing the transport of this highly specialized equipment may result in substantial duplication of costs to the Government should the equipment be damaged in transit and the warranty to repair the equipment be voided.

This notice is neither a request for competitive proposals, nor a solicitation for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is based on response to this notice and is within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
