In general, the work shall consist of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the work described by the project plans, specifications, and general conditions to complete the replacement of the boilers and associated plumbing within the Behavioral & Social Sciences (BSS) and the Kinesiology & Athletics (KA) buildings located on the California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt campus. The Work generally includes the following tasks: Site preparation, Coordination with the University including protection of occupied spaces outside of the work area and scheduling of utility shutdowns, Site utilities including trenching and backfill, Removal of existing boiler units, vent piping, and associated plumbing and electrical, Installation of new boiler units, vent piping, and associated plumbing and electrical, Component anchorage and bracing including piping, ductwork, and electrical distribution systems, Repair of fire-rated assemblies impacted as a result of the work, Commissioning of installed boiler units including all associated monitoring and connections to the existing, Building Management Systems, Balancing of hydronic systems including pre-balance requirements, and Debris removal and site cleanup. Any product specifications that are required to be met by the bidders must be highlighted in the Notice to Contractors and any alternative products need to be approved by the Project Manager in the form of a question in a corresponding addendum.
