THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. It is the intent of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) for the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), to negotiate/award a purchase order to Illumina, Inc. 9885 Towne Centre Drive, San Diego, CA to provide an Illumina-iscan Sequencing Module and Cluster Station. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirements. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500 Employees. Period of performance: The proposed period of performance for this service will consist of one (12) month basic contract period. The sole source determination is based on the fact that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the nation’s leading medical research agency and primary Federal agency conducting and supporting medical discoveries that improve people’s health and save lives. Investigators throughout the NIH request the procurement of Illunina’s iScan with sequencing module since it is a proven platform for genetic analysis and functional genomics. Illumina is the manufacturer of the iScan with sequencing module. Product Description: Illumina iScan with sequencing module. Features include: Fluidics required for NGS, Sequencing Control Software, Pipeline Analysis Software, Installation and Training, and 12 months warranty (including parts and labor). Additionally features include;: 300Mb of data per day, up to 3Gb per flow cell, range of read lengths, 25bp-2x50bp, paired end an single read capable, ability to multiplex 1-12 samples per lane, integration of array-based assays and next-generation sequencing into one platform. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
