The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Illumina, San Diego, CA 92121 pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This request is for one (1) each SY-410-1001-PRE MiSeq System with installation and training. Requirements of the system: 1) Single instrument to perform clonal amplification, sequencing, and data analysis, 2) Does not require emulsion PCR, 3) Uses reversible terminator sequencing by synthesis chemistry, 4) Generate > 3.4 million clusters passing filter per run, 5) Ability to do novo assemble E.coli at 300x coverage from single run, 6) Must support sample multiplexing with up to 48 samples per lane in a single channel flow cell, 7) Must provide industry standard output files including bdi, fastq, bam, csv, and pdf, and must fit within our space limitations of 27.0x 22.2 x 20.6 inches. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, the order will be issued to Illumina.
