The Department of State (DOS) has issued this Request for Information (RFI) as market research to determine the capabilities of industry to provide and support a computer-based system to implement a Personal Identification Validation (PIV) Derived Credentials solution. The DOS is considering acquisition of a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) solution that is in full compliance with the normative guidance contained in the published National Institutes of Science and Technology (NIST) SP-800-157 document. Solutions shall also include or be coordinated with a Mobile Device Management (MDM) facility. The generated Derived Credentials will likely be used to authenticate remote customers to DOS internal resources and mobile applications. This RFI will also be utilized to determine if any Small Business Set-Aside opportunities exist and how viable GSA schedule and/or existing Government Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) may be for this requirement.
