THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE NOTICE. The USDA/ARS intends to award a Firm fixed price sole source contract under the 41 U.S.C 253 (c) (1) FAR 6.302-1 (2) (C) (ii) (A) only one responsible source to HOGENTOGLER & CO INC., P.O. Box 2219, Columbia, MD 21045-1219. Description of Requirement: The objective of this sole source award is to procure and conduct negotiations for acquisition of 2 Thermo Scientific Heracell 150i Dual stack Stainless Interior CO2 Incubators (Model # 50116048) for Dr. Dowson and two Thermo Scientific Heracell 150i Dual Copper Interior CO2 incubators (Model # 50116050) for Dr. Park. This type of CO2 incubators is intended to culture transformed/primary animal cells, which are essential equipment for several ongoing studies. These are to replace broken CO2 incubators. Some features of CO2 incubators are critical for keeping the cross/accidental contamination at minimum. The model to purchase can provide a water pan-less moisture control system and copper interior which can help preventing cross/accidental contamination. Pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as contemplated by FAR 6.302-1(a), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333111 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes however; all information received by September 2, 2014 will be considered by the Government.
