Background:
The US Army Field Artillery community has identified a training need for the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) practice rockets. The Reduced Range Practice Rocket (RRPR) M28A2 is a cost-effective solution to that need. An inert warhead is mated to the same rocket motor assembly used on the M26 Tactical Rocket to provide MLRS batteries an opportunity to train with a rocket pod that has the same properties as the tactical pod and to experience the same effects of firing a tactical rocket, but at reduced ranges.
A quantity (Part # 13540611) of 1,041 will be procured at a rate of 380 per month over a three month ordering period. The Government will provide a Technical Data Package upon request.
Interested firms who believe they are capable of providing the above mentioned items are invited to indicate their interest by providing:
a) Company name, company address, overnight delivery address (if different from mailing address), Cage Code, point of contact, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number;
b) Business size (i.e. large, small disadvantaged, veteran owned, woman owned, etc...)
c) Affirmation of cleared personnel
d) Information regarding previous experience, if any, with the production of inert warheads.
All responses shall be unclassified.
All assumptions, including any assumed Government support, shall be clearly identified. All proprietary and restricted information shall be clearly marked.
The closing date for this RFI is 3 December 2015.
The Government will not reimburse contractors or responders to this notice for any costs incurred in responding, or any subsequent exchange of information. All responses shall be transmitted electronically to [email protected].
