The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to purchase software particular to one manufacturer as set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.405-6 “To an item peculiar to one manufacturer.” As it stands, Infocus is the only known manufacturer of the above listed software. Infocus is a software tool designed to operate to bring the user web sites into compliance with Section 508. Any vendor capable of providing software that can perform the essential requirements must present electronic/written evident of such capabilities by noon October 17, 2008. The evidence must include a discussion of how the software would satisfy the proposed requirements. The Government does not intend to pay for information received and does not intend to provide evaluation result to the sender.
