The Coast Guard Academy has as its Mission to develop Leaders of Character. The premier character trait desired in our graduates is Integrity. We need to develop a way to measure Integrity in our cadets which does not depend upon self-assessment. That method is the Situational Judgment Test, a method that depends upon the use of critical incidents that involve the full continuum of Integrity, and which derive from independent judgments of integrity-related behavior and actions endorsed by the individual being assessed. It is desired to have this situational judgment test reach the final developmental stage by October 30, 2011. It has been determined that there will be approximately 1200-1300 individual surveys required.
