THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Reference #: N00259-16-N-0156. Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: Depuy Synthes Sales Inc.; 325 Paramount Dr, Raynham, MA 02767-5199. The objective of this sole source award is to acquire a posterior percutaneous fixation system. Sole source is based on Depuy Synthes' ability to provide the characteristics provided by the medical center. In order to meet the required characteristics the product must be: the percutaneous fixation system must be a complete rod-screw system designed for minimally invasive surgery and the system must also offer a variety of sizes in rods and screws in order to give the surgeon maximum options to match the patient's anatomy. Depuy Synthes is the manufacturer and sole distributer of the Viper 2 system. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339112; the small business size standard is 750 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement.
