This REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) NOTICE is being issued by the Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), on behalf of the Program Executive Office (PEO) Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS) 9.0. This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued in accordance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) PGI 206.302-1(d), which requires the issuance of a request for information prior to issuing a solicitation on an other than full and open basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. NAVSEA has a requirement to procure combat system materials to support DDG 1000 Class Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) and Mission Systems Equipment (MSE) activation. These parts have been qualified through a series of performance standards and specifications. As such, NAVSEA intends to issue a solicitation for the brand name manufacturers that have been qualified to meet mission requirements. They have a known performance and tolerance in the DDG 1000 Total Ship Computing Environment. Prior to issuing a brand name only solicitation, NAVSEA is seeking companies that provide equipment of the same form, fit, and function as the brand name parts identified in Attachment 1. The equipment must be capable of seamless integration into the USN TSCE.
This notice is for market research purposes only and does NOT constitute a Request for Proposal. This notice shall not be construed as a contract, a promise to contract, or as a commitment of any kind by the Government. The Government is NOT seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. This Request for Information Notice is issued solely for conducting market research in accordance with FAR Part 10 and gathering information for planning purposes. The Government will not reimburse companies for submitting responses to this notice.
Responses are not to exceed 10 pages. Responses shall be in electronic format. The font size shall not be smaller than 12 pt. font. The top, bottom, left and right margins shall not be less than 3/4 inches. A cover page for the response shall be included. The cover page shall include the company name, address, CAGE Code, and points of contract (names, email, and telephone numbers) at a minimum. The cover page is not considered in the total page count.
SUBMISSION OF RESPONSES: NAVSEA will accept only electronic unclassified submission of responses. Responses shall be sent to Omar Roque at [email protected] with the subject line " RFI AWS Interim Parts." All responses shall be unclassified and shall be submitted to the by 5:00PM Washington DC time, 03 Mar 2016.
