This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101(a)(2) requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract, and is not a request for competitive proposals. The statutory authority for this sole-source procurement is FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
 

The Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Tenant Contracting Division, 6001 Combat Drive, Aberdeen Proving Ground MD 21005, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Matthews International Corporation (CAGE: 38968), located at 1315 W Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15226-1040, to provide one (1) Brand Name Only Matthews Environmental Solutions PowerPak 1 Cremator, one (1) Matthews Environmental Solutions Electric Cremated Remains Processor (ECP-200) and one (1) Matthews Environmental Solutions Hydraulic Lift Table (LB1BS) for the U.S. Army Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC). ECBC has been tasked by the Joint Staff Logistics Directorate to determine if the existing crematory system (Matthews Power Pack1) at Dover AFB, Delaware is suitable for the disposition of contaminated human remains. As such ECBC requires the same cremation system that is currently in use by the Government. As such, no other system can meet the Government's testing needs.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
