Quantity One: Item # DU-897U-CS0-BVF; iXon 897 single photon detection EMCCD camera, back-illuminated, standard AR coated with fringe suppression, 512x512 frame transfer with 16x16um pixel size, thermoelectric cooling to -100°C, quantum efficiency (QE) > 90%
Quantity One: Item # ANDOR-SDK-CCD; software development kit
This equipment will be installed on an existing Olympus microscope as part of electrophysiology set up. Specifically, this camera will be used to acquire images of live Drosophila brain during electrophysiology experiments and to provide visual input for sample displacement and compensation. The light sensitivity (QE >90%) is imperative because the high sensitivity allows the lab to use less excitation light during live experiments and to image an extended period of time without damaging brains and affecting electrophysiological recording. The anti-Fringe option is also a required option to remove light fringe artifact under infrared illumination.
