DESCRIPTION: The VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Government Scientific Source, Inc. 12351 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA 20191 under the authority of FAR 6.302-2 due to only having one responsible source with a mandatory Federal Supply Schedule that can provide required services for the preventive maintenance service (Silver Agreement) of the Bio-Rad Evolis Analyzer that will meet the requirements of the VA Medical Centers located in Omaha, Nebraska. AUTHORITY: This is notice of intent to award a sole source under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-2, Due to Only One Responsible Source that Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with a mandatory Federal Supply Schedule. Note - No award will be issued from responses to this notice. Response to this notice does not legally bind the Government in any manner. Your concerns will be considered if you respond to this posting with a similar product/service. JUSTIFICATION: The justification for this sole source request is based on the Nebraska Western Iowa HCS maintaining their Bio-Rad Evolis Analyzer in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. This service is essential to ensuring this vital equipment is maintained and serviced properly. No other sources for the required services on a mandatory Federal Supply Schedule can be found. DETERMINATION: A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
