NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 20 (NCO 20) intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C 253(c) (1) - FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy the agency requirement to ABIOMED, 22 Cherry Hill Danvers, MA 01923. The Period of Performance of the contract is for the Base Year from February 11, 2016 and Plus Four (4) Option Years Period. The service is for Two (2) Impella AIC System. The equipment is proprietary and requires factory trained and certified technician. This also requires the use of specialized test equipment. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; nonetheless, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
