The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Intuitive Surgical, Inc., 950 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, for an annual maintenance service contract for our Intuitive da Vinci Robotic Surgical System located at University Drive Division, University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. The proposed contract is for a base year plus two (2) option years. The Base Year contract period is October 1, 2005 - September 30, 2006. Services will be provided Monday - Friday 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. and services to be provided include: guaranteed response time of 2 hours, 24 X 7 remote technical assistance, software updates and enhancements, hardware updates for safety and reliability, performance verifications (PM's) as required, parts exchanged (excluding instruments and accessories), labor and travel, and endoscope protection. Intuitive is the sole source provider of these services as Intuitive has not authorized or designated other service providers at this time.
