NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE - The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) laboratory facility in Morgantown, WV purchased a Micromass Quadruple time-of-flight mass spectrometer (Q-ToF-2) via competitive procedures in 1999. The warranties have expired and the government desires to provide continued maintenance for this sensitive analytical instrument. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with the equipment manufacturer, Micromass, Inc., Beverly, MA to provide continued annual maintenance because we are not aware of any other vendor that could provide the necessary support due to proprietary design features of the instrument and controlling software. If there are interested parties who believe they can provide the required services, they may fully explain their capabilities and qualifications in writing within 10 days from the date of this announcement. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if any sources exist, therefore, no solicitation is available. Information shall be submitted to: Brenda L.
