The 341st Contracting Squadron is conducting market research to determine the existence of potential business sources to perform the Operation Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL). The information in this notice is based on the best and most current information available to date. This information is subject to change and is not binding the Government. Work consists of services to provide, except those identified as Government-furnished, all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, management, supervision, and other items and services necessary to perform the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) services at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana. Government calibration facilities at Malmstrom Air Force Base, and equipment are available to support the offeror. Services include actions necessary to manage, test, calibrate, repair, modify, certify, store, safeguard, transport, and perform traceable measurements through the Air Force Primary Standards Laboratory (AFPSL) to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or other Air Force Metrology and Calibration (AFMETCAL) Det.1 approved sources on test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE). The Government anticipates awarding a contract for a basic year of performance beginning 1 Oct 07, with four, one-year options. It is anticipated that a firm, fixed-price (FFP) contract will be awarded. The Solicitation will be posted at FedBizOps electronically, on or about 6 Apr 2007. The Request for Proposal will be available by electronic transmission ONLY.
