Preserve the buoy deck surfaces and underwater body surfaces/boot top for the Coast Guard ANT Saginaw located at 110 Mt. Elliot Ave.Detroit, Mi 48207. SCOPE OF WORK FOR ANT Saginaw Detroit ’s 49422 Preserve Buoy Deck and Preserve Underwater Body/Boot Top 1.0 Time frame: Work to start by 01 FEB 2005 and be completed by 15 MAR 2005. 2.0 Scope: This work item describes the requirements for the Contractor to preserve the buoy deck surfaces, and underwater body surfaces/boot top. 3.1 Buoy deck: The buoy deck includes bitt and chock foundations, hatches (top and bottom), stanchion sockets, vent pipes, angle coaming area, and approximately six inches up all adjacent vertical bulkheads and inboard areas of gunwales with the coating system specified for Weather Deck, Buoy Tender Working Deck, Construction Deck. 3.2 Underwater body: The underwater body is defined as the areas from the bottom of the keel to the upper edge of the boot-topping, including rudders, sea chests, bilge keels, struts, skegs, gratings, and rope guards. 4.0 Location: Work will be completed at Coast Guard Industrial Detroit, 110 Mt Elliott Ave, Detroit MI 48207 in side the Boat House. Coast Guard personal will haul and block vessel. 5.0 Containment: The Contractor shall furnish and install suitable containment to seal hull from outside environment ensuring compliance with all Federal and State regulations. Containment must capture all debris, protecting the environment from any air, water or ground contamination during the performance of work. Containment must be independent of the Boat House walls, deck and overhead. 6.0 Protective measures: The Contractor shall take the protective measures listed in the enclosed 49 Foot BUSL Specification for Dry Docking Repair 2004. Protective measures will prevent contamination and surface damage of non-affected vessels equipment, components, and spaces ( i.e facility overhead, walls and decks) during surface preparation and coating application procedures: 7.0 Prep and coating: The Contractor shall prepare and coat all surfaces in accordance with enclosed Modified Standard Spec 6300_STD, and all applicable sections therein. 8.0 Post work: Upon completion of work, remove containment area and all debris to include all spaces within vessel and surrounding areas to include facility deck, walls, and overhead. The contractor is to ensure all disposal is in accordance with all Federal and State Laws. Inspect for the presence of contamination. Notify the COR (Lt Loiselle, Industrial Detroit Manager) immediately by verbal means, followed on the next workday in writing, if contamination of an area or environment has occurred, prior to removal of the contamination and repair of damage.
