THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE SYNOPSIS! The 45th Contracting Squadron has a sole source requirement for troubleshooting/repair of KS54000 broadband seismometers and providing an estimated cost/delivery date for the repair of each seismometer. Pricing is to include any and all shipping/handling costs for six (6) seismometers to Melbourne, Florida. The requested delivery/period of performance will be for twelve (12) months after receipt of an order. This is a Sole Source with Geotech Instruments, LLC IAW FAR 6.302-1. Geotech Instruments, LLC is the only source capable of fulfilling the government?s requirement as they are the original equipment manufacturer for the proprietary KS-54000 Very Broadband Seismometer. The sensor is a major component of the existing highly specialized seismic network system, which is composed of integrated commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components and materials. The KS-5400 components were selected based on the USAEDS technical requirements. The original components were procured in 1998 and no other product will satisfy AFTACs technical requirement as a suitable substitute. No solicitation documents exist at this time. This item/service utilizes Standard Industrial Code (SIC) 3829 with a business size of 500 employees and North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 334519. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider any responses from capable sources received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis. 45 CONS/LGCB has determined that Geotech Instruments, LLC is the only source capable of providing this requirement.
