STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) 1. Contract Title. Service Maintenance Agreement Becton Dickenson, Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorter (FACS) Lasers. 2. Background. The VAMHCS Research & Development (R&D) Service has a compelling need for a service agreement for 2 Becton Dickenson Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorters (FACS). One FACS is the CANTO II Flow Cytometry System, the other FACS is the Melody Cell Sorter. The acquisition of a service agreement for each device will ensure continued productivity and savings in man-hours, as well as allowing for maximal utilization of the machines by the major user group and other VAMHCS investigators. 3. Scope. This request is for a maintenance agreement on the 3 excitation lasers (488 nm blue, 640 nm red, 405 nm violet) used in the Melody to sort cells based upon fluorescence from the most common fluorophores, including fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and phycoerythrin (PE)lasers as needed, and the 2 lasers used in CANTO II. 4. Specific Tasks. The contractor shall provide the service maintenance for a Becton Dickinson (BD) FACSMelodyTM Cell Sorters excitation lasers as part of the Research Core Facility for VA investigators at the VA Maryland Health Care System. The major components of this service include the maintenance of the lasers on the FACSMelody TM Cell Sorter (PIC Mini 488-20 Blue Laser Item #661964, PIC Mini 640-45 Red Laser Item#661965 and PIC Mini 405-45 Violet Laser Item #661963). Hourly rate for labor and travel for service provided on weekends and holidays, minimum 4 hours labor and travel combined. Unlimited telephone support for instruments, reagents and applications will be provided at no additional charge. Workstation printers are not covered. Site of Delivery: Baltimore VAMC Research & Development Service, 3rd floor 10 N. Greene St. Baltimore, MD 21201 The contractor shall also provide the service maintenance for a Becton Dickinson (BD) FACSCanto IITM Flow Cytometer as part of the Research Core Facility for VA investigators at the VA Maryland Health Care System. The major components of this service include the maintenance of the 2 lasers on the FACSMelody TM Cell Sorter, the computer workstation, and the FACSLoader. Hourly rate for labor and travel for service provided on weekends and holidays, minimum 4 hours labor and travel combined. Unlimited telephone support for instruments, reagents and applications will be provided at no additional charge. Workstation printers are not covered. Site of Delivery: Bressler Research Building 9th Floor 655 W. Baltimore St Baltimore, MD 21201 . 5. Performance Monitoring: The CORE Lab Manager and Research Lab Manager will ensure validity of work in cooperation with sales or technical representative if the need arises. Technical guidance, including an assessment of the need for routine or special maintenance, will be available for the life of the equipment by phone and email for the project. 6. Period of Performance: Base plus Four option Years. Base Period - 10/1/2021 - 09/30/2022 Option Year 1 - 10/1/2022 - 09/30/2023 Option Year 2 - 10/1/2023 - 09/30/2024 Option Year 3 - 10/1/2024 - 09/30/2025 Option Year 4 - 10/1/2025 - 09/30/2026 NOTE: Please provide Technician Certifications from BD for approval to work on BD Equipment or, an agreement letter from BD that work can be completed on the equipment being serviced.
