Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Joel Maintenance

Mission and Installation Contracting Command, Fort Gordon, GA intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract with Jeol USA, INC., 11 Dearborn Road Peabody, MA, 01960-3862. The requirement is for annual preventative maintenance and service repair of the JSM-IT300LV Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), the JMS-T100LP system (AccuTOF Mass Spectrometer) with Direct Analysis Real Time (DART) Ionization Source, and the JMS-IT500LV Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and components for the Defense Forensic Science Center (DFSC), Fort Gordon GA.  Period of Performance is March 2021 through March 2022.  The NAICS code is 811219. The authority for this non-competitive award is 10 USC 2304(c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. The Government intends to procure this sole source requirement under Simplified Acquisition Procedures in FAR part 13 and Commercial procedures in FAR part 12. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS and a solicitation will not be issued. Interested concerns must show clear and convincing evidence that competition of this requirement would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written responses are received by 12:00 pm on 1 March 2021, an award will be made without further notice. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the discretion of the government.
