1.1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION / OWNER INTENT The project site is at the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) located at 510 Park Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN. The work consists of removing the existing railing system and replacing the current system with a full height floor to ceiling mesh and plexiglas combined barrier to protect the youth that is currently housed at the JDC. The new mesh and plexiglas barrier will require modifications to the existing sprinkler heads. The project will update six total living mods, three living mods on the second floor and three living mods on the third floor. The JDC is an active facility, and the contractor will need to complete one living mod before moving to another living mod. The contractor is expected to work closely with the owner to limit disruptions during construction.
