The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a SOLE SOURCE combination Firm Fixed Price and Time and Materials contract modification, under Contract N00019-04-C-0104, to Rockwell Collins, Inc. for non-recurring technical engineering and support to continue the integration of VH-60N unique avionics systems architecture into the existing Army SOF Common Avionics Architecture System (CASS) for eight (8) VH-60N aircraft. Contractor performance will include: 1) software code, test and integration, execution of software test dry runs, hot bench support, and system test dry runs; 2) deficiency correction for issues discovered during test; 3) formal qualification test; and 4) ground and flight test support of the system at government facilities, as required. Rockwell Collins is the original equipment manufacturer and system integrator of the CASS system and is the only firm with the requisite knowledge, proprietary data, and expertise of the CASS avionics system design and operation to meet the Navyââ¬â¢s requirement to integrate VH-60N unique avionics capabilities into the CASS system. The estimated total value of this non-recurring procurement is $8 million ($4M FY06 APN-5; $2M FY07 APN-5, and $2M FY08 APN-5).
