The work to be performed consists, in general, of repairing the Kern River Canal’s two (2) existing headgates. The work includes the removal the headgates, end “A” frames, and mounting brackets; blasting clean the headgates and replacing the corroded areas of both gates; hot dip galvanizing all components; and reinstalling the gates with new seals. Contractor shall be responsible for all required dewatering. ENGINEER’S ESTIMATE: $80,000. The Kern River Canal headgates are located near the intersection of Coffee Road and Truxtun Avenue.
