The 502nd  Contracting Squadron at JBSA Randolph, TX hereby gives notice of their intent to award a firm fixed price purchase order to Corps Medical LLC., on a sole source basis utilizing FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The 502nd Contracting Squadron has a requirement for the Konan Cellchek20 Microscope which includes delivery, installation, training and a one year warranty. Corps Medical LLC is the sole source provider of the Konan Cellchek20; a microscope manufactured by Konan Medical USA Inc.  The Konan Cellchek20 is the only microscope that combines confocal microscopy, endothelial microscopy and accurate pachymetry in one compact unit without touching the surface of the cornea. It also offers automated software tools for auto tracing normal cells as well as automated center and flex center for pathology.  Having this type of technology in the Department of Ophthalmology at JBSA, TX will provide a full cornea scan giving early findings of any corneal disease for pre-surgery /schedule and post- surgery follow up. This microscope is also the only company that makes a dispense cabinet that can be put on the Air Force network; a network that is technology approved for use in alignment with medical protocol and research at JBSA San Antonio.  Konan Medical USA Inc. will only sell the Konan Cellchek20 through its only approved authorized dealer, Corps Medical LLC.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; a solicitation document will not be issued.

NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE the intended procurement is classified under NAICS code 339115 with a Size Standard of 1000 employees.

REGULATORY AUTHORITY The resultant contract will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2021-004.

Place of Delivery:  JBSA, TX.

A determination not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the 502nd Contracting Squadron. Information received will be considered primarily for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement.
