Statement of Need: Product Lead, Defense-Wide Transmission Systems (PL DWTS) has a requirement to procure network equipment/hardware to replace/upgrade the existing Korea Asychronous Transfer Mode (ATM) and Sychronous Optical Network (SONET) infrastructure with an Internet Protocol (IP)/Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) equipment that will be integrated into the global Department of Defense Information Systems Network (DoDIN)(previously known as Defense Information Systems Network (DISN)), which is operated and maintained by Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The DoDIN is the "core global enterprise network" of the United States Military, comprising DoD-owned and leased telecommunications networks, subsystems, and operations support. The DoDIN supports transmission of voice, data, imagery, and all video at all security classification levels employing appropriate cyber-security measures to address known threats. This equipment WILL BE EXEMPT from any current Enterprise Services Agreements (ESA), future Joint Enterprise Service Agreements (Joint ESA) or equivalent agreements within the Department of the Army or any other Government Agency.
Acquistion Strategy: The Government issued a Request for Quote (RFQ) on GSA Schedule 70 and as a result of initial quotes received a potential for open market items may exist. Open market items will be awarded using FAR 15.101-2, Low Price Technically Acceptable Source Selection Process.
