THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Reference #: N0025917N0035. Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: Nuvasive, Inc.; 7475 Lusk Blvd; San Diego, CA, 92121-1900. The objective of this sole source award is to acquire an L4-5 Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) implant.
Salient Characteristics must include:
1. Percutaneous screws consisting of a variety of polyaxial screws, reduction screws, offset connectors, rods, locking nuts, and transverse connectors
2. Implant components must rigidly lock into a variety of different configurations to suit the individual pathology and anatomical conditions of the patient

Nuvasive is the manufacturer and sole distributer of the needed items. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339113; the small business size standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 11:00 AM Pacific Time on January 4, 2016 may be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Gilberto Esteves at [email protected]. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
