2.Would you provide an approximate number of how many samples of each type are submitted on an annual or monthly basis? And with what frequency?
Answer to both questions are below:
AFRRI's Answer:
we would like to have the following analytes for a complete serum chemistry: sodium, potassium, chloride, carbon dioxide, glucose, urea nitrogen, cretinine, calcium, phosphorus, total protein, albumin, globulin, A/G ratio, total bilirubin, ALP, LDH, CK, AST, ALT, GGT, amylase, cholesterol, direct HDLC, triglycerides, LDL osmolality, VLDL, uric acid (i.e., similar to what is listed for the Bioreliance's Comprehensive Plus chemistry panel). For these complete chemistries, I would roughly estimate needing 66 per year.
For "custom panels," we would like a hepatic panel (ALT, AST, ALKP, GGT, Tbili, TP), a renal panel (BUN, creatinine, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, ECO2. albumin, and glucose) and an endocrine panel (sodium, potassium, glucose and chloride). For custom panels, I roughly anticipate needing 20 per year.
I would also need the following nonhuman primate (NHP) specific tests available: serum ELISAs for B virus, measles, SIV, SRV/D, STLV-1 & 2; and, IFA's for STLV'1 &2, SIV, SRV/D. Rough estimates would be 30 per year for each.
USUHS's Answer:
We'll need about 50 per year.
