National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) is issuing a sources sought announcement as part of its market research in anticipation of a need for Local Area Network (LAN) equipment that must be compatible with the following Cisco product families: Application Network services; Routers; Security; Storage Networking; Switches; Voice and Unified Communciation; and Wireless. This is not a request for proposal or quote and no award will be made from this announcement. As previously stated, it is a market research tool only. It is being issued to obtain a better understanding of the availability of products in the commercial market.
Performance Specifications:
1. Local Area Network (LAN) requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
⢠Support for IEEE 802.3ae (10G Ethernet for high-speed uplinks, etc.)
⢠Support for IEEE 802.3z (Gigabit Ethernet for desktop clients, etc.)
⢠Support for IEEE 802.3u (Fast Ethernet for printers, etc.)
⢠Support for VTP (VLAN Trunking Protocol) to enable converged voice and data networks.
⢠Support for Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is not required.
2. Management requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
⢠Compatibility with the AT&T Government Solutions Enterprise Management System (AGMEMS).
⢠Ability to be managed using the Internet Operating System (IOS).
⢠Support for Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) to provide fail-over in the event of equipment failure.
⢠Compatibility with both IPv4 and IPv6 to ensure compliance with migration mandates.
3. Security requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
⢠Support for out-of-band (OOB) management for routers and switches to restrict access to management traffic.
⢠Support for Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) snooping to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks.
⢠Support for Access Control Lists (ACLs) and Virtual LAN ACLs (VACLs) to protect system integrity.
⢠Support for 802.1x device authentication.
⢠Support for Dynamic Address Resolution Protocol Inspection to ensure validity of network addresses.
4. Voice over Internet Protocol requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
⢠Support for CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) to identify network address of supporting/supported equipment.
⢠Support for SCCP (Skinny Client Control Protocol) for call control.
⢠Support for IEEE 802.1Q/p to provide quality of service.
⢠Support for Differentiated Services (DiffServ) to improve quality of service.
