The USDA ARS in Pullman has a need for a Vogel Plot Thresher from ALMACO which is a large volume, multi-crop machine for threshing small grains, cereals, forages, and legumes and meets the production and safety goals of the Grain Legume Genetics Research Unit. The thresher is totally enclosed guarding off moving parts, has a prominent operator's platform with self-closing safety gate, multiple emergency shut-off switches (one being a Lock-out Tag-out switch), cylinder opening foot operated pedal, and remote fuel tank.

In addition to the production and safety features, this model is towable at highway speeds for ease of remote operations.
Configuration includes:
-Interchangeable overshot style concave and cylinder; rubber raspbar
-Operators platform with self-closing gate and fixed-position steps
-Safety features - Emergency shut-off switches, Lock-out Tag-out safety switch, front and rear lights with reflective tape, Cylinder opening foot-pedal and cylinder guard, remote mounted fuel tank and fuel shut-off switch.
- Rubber cushioned torsion axle
