The City of Patterson is soliciting a request for bids for construction. The City Council Chambers will be closed to the public in an effort to prioritize social distancing with the goal to decrease the opportunities for transmission of COVID-19. The public will be able to observe the bid opening live via Zoom Meeting; an addendum will be released with instructions on how to log onto the Zoom Meeting. The City of Patterson hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religious creed, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. SEALED BIDS will be received by the City of Patterson prior to 2:00 p.m. (local time) on December 17, 2020 at 1 Plaza Circle, Patterson, CA 95363, and following said deadline all bids will be publicly opened and read. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bidder, the bidder’s state registration number, the name of the project and the statement “Do Not Open Until the Time of Bid Opening.” Bids received after said deadline or without the required registration number will be returned unopened to the bidder. In general, the work consists of rehabilitating the Las Palmas Avenue pavement between State Route 33 and the east end of the City limits (approximately 3,200 linear feet of road). Areas of pavement that are severely damaged will be excavated and reconstructed with a full pavement section. The improvements will also include the reconstruction of any curb ramps and crosswalks that do not meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, installation of new sewer main, laterals, and manholes, replacement of existing water services and fire hydrants, replacement of existing storm drain pipe and inlets, replacement of existing detector loops and striping and the adjustment of existing manholes and valve covers to finished grade.
