PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE CAREFULLY AS IT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY NOTICE THAT WILL BE PUBLISHED.  The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a sole source, firm-fixed-priced preventative maintenance services contract with Laser Basics Inc., located at 25515 Whitesell St., Suite A, Hayword, CA. 94545.

The FBI Laboratory Division (LD), Operational Projects Unit (OPU), has a requirement for specialized services for Laser Basics Inc. to maintain their LaserCAMM laser center machines. Laser Basics Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and is the only authorized provider of factory-supported, factory trained, factory authorized and factory certified services for the LaserCAMM equipment. Per the OEM, Laser Basics Inc. is the only provider of services as they are the sole manufacturer based on the overall footprint, purchase, operational cost, and proprietary software. As such, Laser Basics Inc. is the sole and exclusive service provider for LaserCAMM equipment, and service contracts can only be purchased through them as there are no authorized resellers to include third-party services agreement resellers.

This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration’s SAM.gov website (www.SAM.gov).  Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the beta.SAM.gov site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.  The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 333517 – Machine Tool Manufacturing; the size standard is 500 employees.

The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and submit a capabilities statement in response to this requirement by emailing Adelle Bolton at [email protected] by 09:00AM EST on June 13, 2021.  Responses sent via other means (i.e. via telephone call, facsimile transmission, etc.) will not be considered.  Information received will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.  A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is at the discretion of the Government. 

Vendors must be registered in SAM, effective July 29, 2012, to receive government contracts.  The FBI utilizes a financial system that has a direct interface with the SAM.  Please ensure that your company’s SAM information is updated and accurate.  This includes TIN, EFT, UEI, addresses, and contact information.  The EFT banking information on file in SAM will be what the FBI uses to process payment to your organization.
